One Out of the Box Pop Up Exhibition, March 17 - April 4, 2022

One Out of the Box Pop Up Exhibition is currently on view at the Victorian Artists Society, located in the Cato Gallery. The exhibition showcases smaller works exploring a variety of mediums, including pastels, graphite, digital media, painting on paper and mixed media.

My work, The One Who Got Away is acrylic/mixed media on canvas, which started off as a still life study of figs painted from life. It was a back up copy of the original which was begun during the extended  Melbourne lockdowns.
Some of the elements in my work include alphabet cubes, glass butterflies, crushed garnet texture medium, mother of pearl shell, hematite, citrine, metallic foil, micaceous medium and acrylic paint, incorporating my signature style textured border wrap.
The black sheep with bumble bee wings flying out of the dismal grey scene, through an opening in the clouds, even has it's tongue poking out.
This exhibition runs until April 4. If you are reading this today, are in East Melbourne area and have time this afternoon, do go in to check out the VAS galleries as there is alot to see and many different exhibitions on view at the moment.
I also have another painting upstairs in the Hammond Gallery as part of the VAS George Hicks Foundation Contemporary Exhibition 2022, Midnight Snack, which will be going to it's forever home next week, thus it will likely be the last time it will be seen in public.
Thank you to the buyers of my two works!!
Your support of my art work is greatly appreciated!
